NAB Second Quarter Newsletter: Strengthening Industry Voice Through Engagement and Reform

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is pleased to share its Second Quarter Newsletter, highlighting major achievements, advocacy efforts and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening Uganda’s broadcasting sector.

This edition features a message from the NAB Chairperson, Dr. Innocent Nahabwe, reflecting on the Association’s progress in building a stronger Secretariat, advancing policy reform, and engaging key government stakeholders on media-sector challenges.

Key activities in this quarter include high-level engagements with Ministries, UCC, UBC, and international partners; NAB’s participation in the Broadcast & Digital Media Convention East Africa 2025; collaborative work on electoral coverage guidelines; and contributions to national dialogues on media freedom, ICT regulation, safety of journalists, and digital transformation.

The newsletter also details member engagement updates, internal administrative developments, and major advocacy interventions such as pushing for reduced transmission costs, reviewing the Copyright Bill, and supporting initiatives to enhance media-security relations ahead of the 2026 elections.
